Happy 1st Anniversary

Dear Neils,

This year has been the most amazing year of my life. We took the initiative to chase one of our long standing dreams of world travel and now we are living in Thailand. During this year, we have left our comfort zone to see what the wide world had to offer us and it has been nothing short of amazing. Even though I dreamed about this long before I knew you, I’m so glad that life worked out the way it did so that we could do it together. Without you, Thailand could only offer me a paler version of itself.

During the past year, we have gone through some pretty difficult stuff. However, having you made the difficult become manageable and the heart aches easier to bear. You were always supportive, understanding and seemed to offer exactly what I needed. You made the hard times not so hard. And though I know that life will bring us more hard times, I’m confident that together we can whether any storm.

365 days ago I married the man of my dreams. The one who I was quite sure didn’t actually exist. And to put the icing on the cake, I officially became part of the greatest second family a girl could ever want. There hasn’t been a day that I haven’t felt an overwhelming gratitude for what you have brought to my life.

I promise to stand by you, trust, respect, and honor you, to laugh with you and cry with you and to help shoulder any of your burdens. I promise to always cherish your intellect, your love and uniqueness and to live each day with intention. I pledge my friendship, my faith, and my love as we begin our life together.”

I make the same commitment to you today and every day. I am truly, madly, deeply in love with you for now and forever.
