The day after Leona was born, my mother arrived. Let me tell you, there's probably no other time in your adult life when you will NEED your mother more than you do immediately after having a child.
It was so amazing having her here! She cleaned floors, washed dishes, did laundry and was up bright and early to sweep up the baby after her morning feeding and demand that Neils and I go back to bed. We didn't argue. We went back to bed.
Besides all the house work she did, she spent a lot of time cuddling and playing with the baby. Leona was so lucky to have such a vast amount of attention right off the bat. Here are somethings that Grandma and Leona did together:
| They cuddled |
| Grandma helped maintain Leo's gastrointestinal integrity |
| They engaged in Leo's first photo shoot. |
| Enjoyed Leo's first night out |
| Swung on the hammock and watched the morning wildlife |
| Engaged in Leo's a second photo shoot |
Took a three generations pictures
| Took family photos |
| Gave kisses |
| And sadly, said goodbye. |
My mom has all the grandchildren calling her Grandma Goddess, which is just a little insight into her fun-loving personality.
Thanks so much for coming, Mom! We are all so grateful for your visit and even though Leona probably won't remember it, our little girl is truly blessed to have such a fabulous grandma! Love you to the moon and back!
